Under the personal direction of Choeng Jang Nim Chun Shik Kim, all Pine Bush Karate students have the opportunity to actually train in a traditional martial art. Pine Bush Karate opened its doors on veterans day November 11th 1994. Sa Bom Nim Alan Friedman is the head instructor. A 5th degree black belt personally promoted by Master C.S. Kim, Alan Friedman has been a member of the International Tang Soo Do Federation over 20 years. Master Friedman was Inducted in the ALL AMERICAN BLACK BELT HALL OF FAME May 2nd 2009 at the 35th ALL MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIP held in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

Master Friedman has 23 years of technical and engineering work experience with advanced degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, and Education. Master Friedman is currently employed as a Mathematics Teacher in the Pine Bush Central School District alternative education program.

Pine Bush Karate is special because not only do we teach the physical aspect of this traditional martial art but we also include the important piece many martial arts schools forget such as, discipline, respect, self-control and character education.
